Jessica Rose, 23, is a CMA emerging artist and songwriter who is singing her way to become a breakthrough artist. She released her debut self titled EP in 2015 (listen on Spotify) before moving to Nashville. Her upcoming Wild Hearts EP is set to release in June and you can preorder on Pledge Music. The title track “Wild Hearts” will be joined with “Last Call”, “Look For Me”, “Listenin’ To You Leavin'”, and “Be The Fire” to complete the 5 song EP.

What influenced your love of music?

“I was kind of shy when I was younger, afraid to speak in front of family and friends. I started singing in my elementary school choir and started learning guitar soon after that. I saw Demi Lovato and wanted to be just like her, opening for the Jonas Brothers. My dad signed me up for guitar lessons and it really helped with being shy. When I started playing with a guitar, I felt like I wasn’t standing by myself. I performed at my Dad’s restaurant once a month and that’s how it started.”

Jessica has been in many singing competitions including American Idol, The Voice, Nashville Rising Star, and WSM Road Show. American Idol, which happened in the early stages of Jessica’s music career, was a turning point where she realized how much music meant her. She explained, “I knew I wasn’t going to give up.

How was your experience with American Idol?

“‘Marry Me’ by Train was the song that my Mom submitted to American Idol. I advanced to the next stages and then Randy Jackson showed up at my show in Staten Island, where he told me I was going to Hollywood. There’s a lot they didn’t air. I sang ‘Marry Me’ and ‘Perfect’ before the aired part of my audition, where I made up an original song on the spot. I didn’t have original music at the time so I didn’t say no. Never in a million years will I sing a song and play guitar that I don’t know. This happens to a lot of people but mine was on tv.”

American Idol did not stop Jessica Rose. She is one of the three winners in the WSM Road Show, which lets her open for an upcoming Tracy Lawrence concert. Also, Radio Disney is going to release one of her music videos soon.

“I met one of the hosts of Radio Disney. She got in touch with her program director who said they can do it.”

Jessica Rose is a CMA Emerging Artist, which grants her a spot at the Country Music Association Festival Fan Fair X at Music City Center in Nashville July 8 to July 11. Fan Fair X gives country music fans an up close and personal interaction with their favorite artists with meet and greets, autograph signings, and intimate performances during the festival. Jessica will be at her booth all day, every day of Fan Fair X. Her Wild Hearts EP will be released earlier that week. Pre-order her upcoming EP on Pledge Music or buy it in person at the festival and have it signed!

Do you have any exciting shows coming up?

“I’m planning an EP release party in NY this July. The last show I did almost had 250 people there so we have to move to a bigger venue this time. I’ve been doing a home show every Christmas and summer. It’s cool because people I went to elementary school with come and support me. I would do the same for them.”

Why is The Ryman Auditorium your favorite venue?

“Not many people get to see the artists like I get to see them. I might go to the Ryman 3 times in one month because I love it so much. My favorite part of shows is seeing the audience react to the artists and it’s cool seeing them sing every word. I picture that happening to me some day. Since I moved to Nashville, it’s the venue I want to perform at over any other venue. If I play there, I feel like I’ve made it.”
