The top Country artists are honored by CMT for having an outstanding year. In light of the recent tragedies and devastations happening in the world, this year’s celebration is different. The usual speeches and musical performances will remain the same. However, the overall night will be transitioning into “a night of hope and healing through the power of music,” according to CMT’s website.
“Following the devastating hurricanes, horrific California wildfires and tragic mass shooting in Las Vegas, CMT transforms this year’s CMT Artists of the Year special from a year-end celebration honoring the top artists of the year, into a night of hope and healing through the power of music featuring honorees Chris Stapleton, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban and Luke Bryan. The eighth-annual special will air live from Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center on Wednesday, October 18 at 8pm ET/PT.”
Tonight will have performances by Chris Stapleton, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, and Luke Bryan. There are some surprises and special guests at AOTY. We heard Backstreet Boys, Leann Womack, Bobby Bones, and Andra Day will be there!
