On Monday, two artists joined Jimmie Allen’s Instagram Live stream to share their latest tracks in another edition of his Set In Stage series. First up was his long-time friend Renee Blair. Originally from St. Louis, Renee came to Nashville 12 years ago. She started singing and writing at age 15. She gained some attention after covering Kanye West’s “Through The Wire” on Youtube, as her mouth was wired shut following a car accident. Her boyfriend, Jordan Schmidt, was part of the writing team on Jimmie’s song with Noah Cyrus “This Is Us”. The track she shared was titled “Heart’s In Your Head”, a semi-autobiographical song about her life in her 20’s trying to navigate relationships.
Also joining Jimmie Monday was Tom Tippin. Tom is the son of singer Aaron Tippin, Jimmie’s late father’s favorite musicians. With such a legendary father, it’s no wonder Tom followed in his footsteps. Tom released his first EP, Teenage Heart less than a year ago, and played a really cool track off it, “Raining In LA”.
