Brooklyn-based artist Lauren Jaimes has released the debut music video for her latest single “Home Is Where You Are”. It’s an upbeat folksy jam about how home is more defined by surrounding yourself with the ones you love. The accompanying music video, filmed in Brooklyn and directed by Forrest Weber, is a one-shot wonder in its simplicity and quirkiness. The combination of the video and song will inspire you to lace up those boots, don your best gingham shirt, grab your partner, and dance along! Follow along to Lauren and company’s dance during the chorus; it’s easy and fun!
Lauren blends Country, Folk, and Americana sounds together to create her own unique style. She lists her favorite influences as including Kacey Musgraves, John Denver, and Johnny Cash. On how she came about creating “Home Is Where You Are”, Lauren states:
“I’m an artist that tends to gravitate toward writing sad, sentimental and introspective songs, so when I started working on “Home Is Where You Are” I really wanted it to be the complete opposite of that. I wanted to produce something that would be fun, upbeat and bright, something that would make people feel good.”
“Home Is Where You Are” is the follow up to her first release, 2018’s Here To Stay EP. From the tender sentimentality of “Cherry Pie” to the steadfast toughness of “Song To Pa”, her new entry to her catalogue adds to the array of style Lauren’s representing. She’s starting to command attention as “Home Is Where You Are” has been added to Vevo’s True Country playlist.
