Taylor Swift announces 1989 (Taylor’s Version) at her last show of the first US leg of the Eras Tour in Los Angeles.
While fans had been suspecting that she would announce the star’s rerecording of her fifth studio album, it didn’t lessen any of the excitement when she announced the album just before her secret songs.

“Surprise!! 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is on its way to you ?! The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th,” Swift captioned the post. “To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long! Pre order 1989 (Taylor’s Version) on my site ???”
To prove that Taylor truly is a Mastermind, she announced 1989 (Taylor’s Version) on the 8th month and the 9th day, all while the original 1989 was released 8 years and 13 days to when she announced the rerecord. Taylor never ceases to amaze us!
Along with the announcement, Taylor also released a brand new light blue vinyl record, a regular CD, and four deluxe versions of the CD, which will include 5 collectible photo cards and 15 never-before-seen photos as well.
