Brett Eldredge has announced a new album titled Songs About You, due to be released June 17th. With that announcement came the release of a new single, the titular “Songs About You”. Reflecting on the inspiration for “Songs About You”, Brett says, “There are songs that just transport you back in time to a moment with someone you love.” The lamenting nature of the song rings true throughout as different songs he encounters throughout this tale remind him of a former love. Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing In The Dark” and Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” trigger memories of love lost.
Cause sometimes they make me dance
Sometimes they make me cry
Sometimes they make wish
That I had never said goodbye
Now I’m just tryna get through
These songs about you

“I knew exactly what I wanted to say and what I wanted the album to sound like,” Brett says of his upcoming album.
