In a brilliant intertwining of several genres, BRELAND delivers with his debut album Cross Country. Over the past few years, BRELAND has been making waves in the country music scene with his unique mix of country, R&B, pop, and even gospel sounds. BRELAND wants his music to be accessible to anyone. “I want people to feel like there’s something for them on it regardless of what type of music you grew up listening to or typically listen to,” BRELAND says about what he wants listeners to take from Cross Country. Once listeners get ahold of Cross Country, they will become fast fans!

BRELAND has released several songs from Cross Country already. There’s the party anthem “Praise The Lord” in collaboration with Thomas Rhett. You can hear the influence of Shania Twain‘s “Man! I Feel Like A Woman” in the track “Natural”. Both of these early releases exemplify BRELAND’s mission to broaden the scope of country music. “We’ve got something on here for everyone and I think being able to do that while still rooting it in country music is really powerful and lends itself to some of the songwriting that I was able to exhibit on the project,” he continues.

What’s New From BRELAND on Cross Country

New tracks appearing on this release include the title track “Cross Country”. Done in collaboration with Mickey Guyton, this is an autobiographical track about BRELAND’s journey in country music; from growing up in New Jersey to traveling to Atlanta to hone his craft, BRELAND shares that he won’t stop the grind. “Growing Pains” highlights the struggles one faces in life and the dedication to pushing through those tough times. “Don’t Look At Me” has a smooth bluesy tune to it, emphasizing the sexy undertones of rekindling a romance after a lover’s quarrel.

“Happy Song” isn’t as happy as the title would make you believe; it’s a lamenting track about how a song brings back good memories following a breakup. “County Line” borrows the intro from Sylvia‘s “Nobody” in a faded radio clip, then transforms that melody into a country-trap blended track reflecting about growing up.

“The goal is that everyone has something that they can vibe to, but also I wanted it to be a joyful project and a project that feels light and hopefully energizes people and inspires them,” BRELAND says as he reflects on what he wants listeners to take away from this album. He certainly achieved that goal! Cross Country has something for everyone. Stream Cross Country below. Follow BRELAND on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter.
