The time has finally arrived! Carrie Underwood has released her much-anticipated Denim & Rhinestones! And what convenient timing: she tore down the house at Nissan Stadium here in Nashville on June 11, the day after Denim & Rhinestones‘ release. “I really just wanted to make an album that felt like fun,” Carrie Underwood says about what she wants fans to get out of the album. “I feel like this one ended up being a bigger reflection of me as a person and as an artist. We have a lot of songs that could be considered throwback songs, but they sound super fresh. These are influences that are in me and work their way out and I just decided this time not to get in their way.”
Carrie has already dropped three tracks from this album in the lead-up to its release. “Ghost Story” tells the tale of how her memory will haunt her former lover. “Crazy Angels” is a rockin’ girl power anthem. “She Don’t Know” weaves a tale of how she knows about her partner’s infidelity. Don’t forget about the titular track, which features throwback synths!
There are plenty of new tracks on Denim & Rhinestones that are bound to become fan favorites. “Faster” has a melody and mood reminiscent of 90s crossover hits. “Poor Everybody Else” is another rock anthem. She sings about a girl whose ready to raise hell on a night out. “Velvet Heartbreak” is about a guy who she knows is trouble but sticks with him, right until he breaks her heart. “Garden” implores listeners to reflect on where they came from and to not forget where their seeds have been sown during the journey of life.
Carrie Underwood Thank-You To Fans On Denim & Rhinestones
“Hopefully it’ll just make people happy to listen to. It’s a very like sing into your hairbrush, in your house, in your room, kind of album, which I think is going to translate well.” Carrie Underwood has definitely achieved that on Denim & Rhinestones. Each track has its own unique feel to it, which encapsulates what Carrie has accomplished throughout her career – making her sound distinct from track to track.
