Hear that familiar sound? Chris Lane and Lauren Alaina recently released a re-imagining of the King Harvest classic “Dancin’ In The Moonlight”. It’s not exactly a cover song, but it took it’s inspiration, hook, and melody from the 70’s smash. Chris Lane and Lauren Alaina’s version changed up the words to modernize it as well as add a countryfied twist. “The first time I heard this take on ‘Dancin’ in the Moonlight,’ it was a demo I kept listening to on repeat,” Chris says of the recording of the track.

“It sounds like summer to me and feels like the kind of song you want to put on when you’re on the boat, at a bonfire, grilling, or hanging with the people you love. I love the classic feel it has, and I love that I get to share it with my second-favorite Lauren,” he continues, the first-favorite Lauren obviously being his wife. Check out how they managed to change up the vibe of the song:

Dancin’ in the moonlight (ooh, yeah)

Everybody knows where to go on a Friday night

Where you can’t see the city lights (hey, yeah)

Everybody’s dancin’ in the moonlight

Nowhere to go (nowhere to go)

Nowhere to be (nowhere to be)

And it’s heaven with your hands on me (with your hands on me)

So, let’s keep dancin’ in the moonlight

Girl, you know it feels so right (ooh, you know it feels so right)

“Everyone knows the original. I am excited to be a part of a new take on such an impactful and iconic song. I absolutely love the way it turned out,” Lauren Alaina adds.
