“Seeing Someone Else” starts out very tender, where it sounds like Ingrid speculates on her ex’s new love interest. As the song progresses, listeners realize she’s singing about a past version of herself and how her love sees her. The rising emotion of the bridge increases Ingrid’s vulnerability. With dramatic strings and chilling bells, the drama heightens the dread one feels when their partner is stuck in a rut.
