LeAnn Rimes, Mickey Guyton, and Sheila E. seek to empower women with their latest combined effort “The Wild”. The track is set to appear on LeAnn’s upcoming album God’s Work. “I wrote this song in early 2020, actually before everything that we’re go going through at this moment in time, but I feel like as women the same narrative keeps getting replayed over and over again and has for centuries,” LeAnn says of the intent of the track.

“The Wild” starts off with a spooky melody with eerie chants and haunting vocals. Sheila E.’s distinct percussion beats add to the suspense. This air of mystery emphasizes the struggles women fight every day. It’s definitely a track y’all must listen to. It’s guaranteed to move you and make you think.

Oh, sacred grail
Oh, love diverged
How many centuries have to pass
Before we ever learn?
So, rip the vail
Oh, my sweet child
If you want to hold the holy
You know you got to kiss the wild

Mickey Guyton paid tribute to LeAnn Rimes: “It’s just been an honor to join forces with someone like you, who has gone through so much that you’ve had so many, including women, shame you and were horrible to you. And the fact that you found strength in that to still stand up for the same people that try to persecute you is just completely admirable. And again, that’s why I forever stand you.”
