Tiera Kennedy shared her latest single “Alabama Nights” on September 23. Tiera Kennedy wanted to share with listeners her life growing up. “There’s something so easy about kicking back where I’m from”, Tiera says about her hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. “You don’t always realize until you’re gone, and then it hits you. I love everything about my life right now, don’t get me wrong, but Alabama will always have my heart. The hometown football games, parking lot parties, family restaurant on main street – I wish I could go back and experience it all over again”.
“Alabama Nights” paints a detailed picture of what life was like for Tiera Kennedy growing up. With the crystal-clear tone of Tiera’s voice combined with a rousing harmonica courtesy of Jelly Roll, “Alabama Nights” gives listeners a clear picture of Birmingham. Tiera shouts out football rivalries, adding a little kick to Sonic drinks, and mom’s cooking as nostalgic to her.
I’m talkin’ ’bout them
Hot seat summers, mixin’ Cherry Sprite
With a little bit of Tito’s over Sonic ice
Blacktop smokin’ on the Fourth of July like
Boom, boom, look at that sky
Front porch kickin’ anywhere but home
Baby, Bomb Pop chillin’, streetlight glow
Been around the world, ain’t nothin’ like
Hot damn, thank you ma’am
Them Alabama nights
“Whether you got out or still live there, our hometowns made us who we are. I wrote ‘Alabama Nights’ about my neck of the woods but I hope wherever you’re from, this song reminds you of home,” Tiera continues. Stream “Alabama Nights” below.
