Matt Stell and friends are keeping the new music flowing with his series Penned Up entering it’s third week this past Wednesday. He’s been writing a whole lot and noted that he came up with a really sad chorus, noting that he likes the occasional sad song. He shared a song he wrote with Emily Wiseman titled “Play By Play”, adding a few tweaks from the writes throughout the week. He also joked about the flak he’s been getting from haters by moving a lot during these streams (nothing wrong with that!).
Lindsay Ell is back again this week! Over the course of this past week, she’s been creating a lot of social media content and other Instagram lives with various radio stations. She’s also been remotely working on her new record by recording vocals at home. She focused on not writing sad songs this week. Her song “Go” was a more positive song that she felt had a message we all needed to hear this week.
Also returning is Jameson Rodgers. He’s doing Instagram live stuff with radio stations as well. He shared a song he finished on Monday called “On To Somebody Else”. He revealed he’ll be writing with Matt soon, noting that he observed Matt jotting things down while he was playing. Jameson revealed he has a new song dropping this coming Tuesday called “Cold Beer Calling My Name”.
New joining this week was Travis Denning. He’s been doing a lot of writing and has been working on his demos at home. He revealed he’s going to spend some time with his girlfriend’s family soon. His girlfriend is actually the daughter of singer John Michael Montgomery! He shared one of his favorites he’s been working on, a song called “A Million Little God Things”, a song about things to be thankful for.
Thanks again to Matt for finding a way to share cool new music! You can watch this past Wednesday’s episode below and don’t forget to watch live next Wednesday at 8 PM Central!
