Walker Hayes dedicates his latest single “Face In The Crowd” to his wife of 18 years, Laney. They’ve been in each other’s lives since they were kids. Walker met Laney in elementary school, then started dating in high school after starring in a play together. The pair has been inseparable ever since. It’s natural that he dedicates a romantic track to the love of his life. Through all the strife they’ve been through as a family, Laney is more than just his muse, she’s his life. On release of “Face In The Crowd”, Walker Hayes mentioned his recent CMA Award nominations. “[I was] honored to be nominated for a CMA award,” writes Walker. “But the acceptance speech I would’ve made dropped just now… ‘It’s called Face in the Crowd’.”
Laney’s face is the titular face Walker Hayes picks out of a crowd referenced in the song. He sings that no matter how many people come to see him, her face stands out like a beacon of hope and love. Even when the crazy ride he’s been on ends, he’ll always have her as a constant. “Face In The Crowd” will inspire listeners to seek a love like Walker and Laney, if even possible!

“I can’t say how grateful I am for the last year of my life. It changed a lot for me and my family, but at the end of the day, money doesn’t fix anything,” Walker says of the burgeoning success of this past year. “We’ve been doing this a long time, and we were happy when we were poor, too.
